Put on your favourite cape and bring the family to Black Dog Art Supply for Superhero Saturday! You don’t need x-ray vision to see the exhibition of superhero artworks, or watch local artists creating live pieces, plus enjoy demonstrations of different mediums and deals on your favourite art supplies. All this action is to raise funds for the super art programs at the Ranch Ehrlo Society!
Superhero Art Exhibition
Enjoy a powerful exhibition of superhero pieces all collaboratively painted by more than 60 participants of the Ranch Ehrlo Society art program.
The real-life superheroes at the Ranch Ehrlo Society provide quality preventative and restorative services to, and advocacy for, vulnerable individuals and families through highly engaged and professional employees.
Live Superhero Art With Local Artists
Every comic book hero you have ever loved started with the imagination of an illustrator. We are excited to have three super-talented local artists on-site letting their creative ideas take flight right in front of your eyes!
Raymond Lolacher
Raymond Lolacher has recently published his first comic book, Fallen, a story of mystery, dragons and superheroes – with Regina as the backdrop. Raymond will be demonstrating different techniques he uses to create stories that are larger than life. Raymond also shares his talents as the instructor for our Youth Comic Foundations workshops.
Jordan Bidyk
Recently graduated from the University of Regina Fine Arts Program, and soon on his way to complete a Masters of Fine Art in Saskatoon, Jordan will be pressing superhero block prints on-site and showcasing two new original pieces featuring a superhero and a villian, using his distinctive acrylic and collage style.
Jason Scott
An accomplished landscape and still-life watercolour artist, Jason Scott also loves to create caricatures and comics. Jason will demonstrate how our Stoneground Paint Co. watercolour paint can be used to beautifully illustrate those ideas that are out of this world.
